more information on the Forestry Assistance Program
The Newaygo Conservation District is pleased to announce the Forestry Assistance Program (FAP).  Governor Snyder signed this program into law Public Act 42 of 2013 on June 6, 2013.  This program was enacted in Newaygo County to assist landowners with their forestry needs.  This will include the registration of forest land into the Qualified Forest Program (QFP).

When you make an appointment for a free assessment, your conservation district forester will provide customized information about your property like aerial photographs and soil survey information. During the assessment they will ask questions about your goals, objectives, and previous management history while completing a quick inventory of your land. They will also provide you with information about state and federal assistance programs for private landowners, and help connect you to local professionals who can provide you with the services you need.

For further information click the box to the left, which will take you to the Oceana Conservation District website which houses our forester.

Newaygo Conservation District is an independent unit of state government which has a philosophy and commitment to the stewardship and
conservation of the environment. The NCD consults with landowners to educate them in the planning and use of their land. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs, genetic information, reprisal, or because all or part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs.) Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact USDA'sTARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TDD).
