The Newaygo Conservation District was organized in 1949 with the purpose of improving and maintaining soil productivity and for the purpose of obtaining efficient, appropriate and economical use of the land. Our Mission is to be the primary contact for natural resource information, support, and leadership.

Our Vision
The NCD will be partners with not only other regional conservation districts, but also with local municipalities, watershed organizations, ag related businesses, and like-minded organizations and citizens. There will be a 'grant focus' on wildlife habitat, renewable energy and research, invasive species management, and environmental education.

Newaygo Conservation District is an independent unit of state government which has a philosophy and commitment to the stewardship and
conservation of the environment. The NCD consults with landowners to educate them in the planning and use of their land. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs, genetic information, reprisal, or because all or part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program.
